What’s New
Everything that’s new in Awakly, one version at a time.
Awakly 1.0 First release
Awakly keeps your Mac awake exactly while the work needs it, then lets it sleep.
One click in the menu bar
Click the sun for the drop-down, or right-click it to start and stop. Sessions run from 15 minutes to 8 hours, until a time of day, or until you turn them off, with the display kept on or left to sleep. The sun sinks behind the horizon as a timed session runs down, the time left shows beside it, and a notification five minutes before the end lets you extend by 15 minutes or an hour. Press ⌃⌥⌘A in any app, or record your own shortcut.
Rules that do it for you
Stay awake while an app is open, in front, or presenting a slideshow; while an external display, a VPN or a Wi‑Fi network is connected; on a weekly schedule; during calendar events; while the CPU or network stays busy; or when you plug in the power adapter. Every automatic session names what started it, and a session you start yourself always wins.
Close the lid, keep working Pro
Keep a MacBook running with the lid shut, on battery, with no display attached. No helper to install and no administrator password. Safety limits are on by default: below 30% battery, too hot, in a bag, and after 4 hours.
See what keeps your Mac awake Pro
The drop-down lists the other apps and system services keeping your Mac awake, what each prevents and for how long, even while Awakly is off. Without Pro, it counts them.
Your last 30 days Pro
Settings › History shows time awake each day and every session with what started it, kept on your Mac.
Works with your Mac
Start, stop and check a session from Shortcuts and Spotlight. Add Awakly to Control Center on macOS 26 and later. Add Awakly to a Focus to keep your Mac awake while it’s on (Pro). And start a session from Raycast, Alfred or a script with awakly:// links.
Safe by default
End sessions when the battery runs low, or stay awake only on the power adapter. Awakly uses the same power assertions as caffeinate and never fakes mouse or keyboard activity. No account, no analytics, no tracking.
